Things to look for when car insurance comparison short term

Short term car insurance is useful if you need to drive, but does not have a car, for example, if you want to try driving a car or borrow a friend's car. The benefit of short term insurance is that you don't need an annual policy and engage with the economic effort, but the downside is that it is likely to pay more per day to cover. To get the best deal in short term car insurance, compare as many factors as possible.

Price

One of the main factors of decision is of course the price. Price and value are different. You may notice that a policy is more expensive than another, but that the more expensive policy offers a higher level of coverage with fewer exclusions. When you buy insurance, insurance especially in the short term, it is tempting to assume that you will not make a claim and to look at insurance simply as a legal requirement. If you're sure that you will not make a claim and simply want to drive legally, then the cheapest policy you can be car short term so you can secure the best. However, if you want to guard against accidents, not only consider the cost, look at the benefits also.

Excess

A policy excess will also determine the cost if you make a claim. You will get a premium cheaper by having a higher excess, but if you need to claim, you will be charged for the excess.

Level of coverage

Like traditional car insurance, you can buy a global or third-party coverage. If you buy only covered third-party, you will pay less of course, also have to take the risk that if you have an accident, only the other person involved is covered by your policy. When comparing policies, be sure to compare the cover of equal to equal.

Term of insurance

The beginning of the short term car insurance policy is important, since it is illegal to drive until you begin the policy. To make comparisons, they do it by the same date range. A policy that runs over a longer time period is likely to be more expensive, of course, other factors can come into play also. For example, most insurance policies cover 23 drivers or over years of age, but some cover younger drivers. If you request quotes from home that fall before and after their birthday number 23, can see the cover it is cheaper for the second. Some insurance companies have a minimum term and some have a maximum. Where are the minimum conditions, check that it is not being forced to pay for insurance you don't need. It may be best to go to a policy that costs more per day, but that does not require you to hire a longer term coverage.

Exclusions

When comparing quotes, check what is and is not covered. For example, some short term car insurance policies may not cover if you drive abroad, others may prohibit the use for commercial purposes, such as the delivery of goods or the supply of lifts.
